Biografia
Wayne Shorter è stato un musicista jazz (sassofono, sassofono tenore, sassofono contralto e sassofono soprano). Nato il 25 agosto 1933 a Newark, morto il 2 marzo 2023 a Los Angeles. Lo stile è di solito associato a jazz, fusion e post-bop. Etichette: Blue Note. La discografia qui comprende 27 album, da «Introducing Wayne Shorter» (1960) a «Celebration, Volume 1 (Live)» (2024). Tra i riconoscimenti: Guggenheim Fellowship (2016), NEA Jazz Masters e Doris Duke Performing Artist Award.
Wayne Shorter (Newark, 25 agosto 1933 – Los Angeles, 2 marzo 2023) è stato un sassofonista, musicista e compositore statunitense. Shorter è salito alla ribalta nel 1959 entrando a far parte dei Jazz Messengers di Art Blakey, per i quali è poi diventato il principale compositore. Nel 1964 si è unito al quintetto di Miles Davis‘’ per poi co-fondare il gruppo jazz fusion Weather Report nel 1970. Ha registrato più di 20 album come bandleader.
